WGN #1: SWTOR Server transfers and more.

Not everyone has the time or the inclination to scour the depths of the internet to find the juiciest piece of relevant gaming news. This is why we are starting a new (hopefully) daily article series. In these short articles we'll point you to the interesting forum threads, dev posts, reddit threads or videos we can find concerning the games the guild is interested in. Since none of us is capable of seeing everything, you are encouraged to suggest items you want to share. You can send in the suggestion via a pm on the forums to Zorrander.

SWTOR made a start with the free character transfers last week. After evaluating the population of the destination realms over the weekend they opened up the next couple of servers. The players on these servers, unfortunately for them, are not able to join Wipus on the Red Eclipse. This might mean our server is considered full enough or they might

be waiting to see if more people from the original set of transfer servers are still going to make the jump. You can see the full list here.
Update: while writing this article one more server, "Luka Sene", has been given the destination of the Red Eclipse bringing our total of origin servers to 10.

Last week there was an AMAA ("Ask Me Almost Anything") on Reddit with some of the Diablo3 game designers in which they answered a lot of questions from the players. The reddit AMAA threads are usually quite hard to read and follow and that is why Blizzard posted a compiled list of questions and answers on their community blog for your convenience. They also added nice links to the topics, so you can pick the ones you are interested in.

There have been two nice Youtube videos of Guildwars 2.  One sheds some extra light on the lore of the world we will be playing in and specifically the Fall of Ascalon. The second video has an explanation about the mechanics and reasoning behind the current drama and/or misconceptions surrounding the experience points needed for levelling. The video by Enigmius1 points out all the ways in which you can get XP and let's you draw your own conclusions if you feel the curve is still to low.

As a final tip we would like to inform you that  Sony has opened the beta signups for their new MMOFPS Planetside2. If you go to the game's website you can fill out an application for a chance at a beta spot.

We hope you enjoyed this first issue of the Wipus Gaming News and we look forward to seeing you again tomorrow!
