WGN #2: Diablo patch 1.0.3 released.

Another day, another issue of Wipus Gaming News. Today there were not so many interesting links. We did find a couple that you might find interesting though.

Let's start with GuildWars 2. The GW2 community held a survey after the second beta weekend ended and in this thread on reddit you can find some of the preliminary results. An example of one of the more  surprising results is that once you turn 41 you are drawn to the ranger class. Not surprisingly, when you compare it to other mmo's,  guys are more drawn to the warrior than women. The women are a lot more likely to play the mesmer though.  The pinkish colour is probably to blame although they also seem gravitate towards the darker necromancer compared to guys. Go visit the thread for yourself for more cool insights.

Patch 1.0.3 has gone live on the US Diablo 3 servers and that probably means that we will get it tomorrow during maintenance. Patch 1.0.3 is quite a big patch and we'll list some of the highlights, you can read the full patch notes here.

  • Damage in Acts 2,3 and 4 on Inferno difficulty has been reduced
  • If you have 5 stacks of Nephalem Valor and you kill an elite pack (Champion/Rare) you are guarantueed an item of Rare quality
  • Blacksmith crafting costs have been reduced by 50%-75% and training costs for the blacksmith have been reduced by 50%.
  • High-end Items now also drop in earlier acts.
  • Repair costs have been increased for item levels 53-63.
  • Attack speed on weapons and armor has been reduced by 50%
  • The jeweler doesn't charge as much anymore for combining gems of rank 2-8 and you also need only 2 gems for them as well.

All-in all, a lot more changes than listed here, if you want to read the full list just follow the link to the official patch notes published by Blizzard. Remember though, they are not yet live on the EU servers.

SWTOR had no real big updates today during maintenance, there was just one slight update:  "In order to improve overall performance, the maximum number of simultaneous players on the Imperial and Republic Fleets has been decreased". This probably means more instances with less people per instance, we assume this is proof the server transfers are a succes.

Remember, we are still looking for new members, so feel free to apply

Enjoy your games and see you tomorrow with more updates
